How do I sign up for Medicare at 65?
You can enroll online through the Social Security Administration (ssa.gov), by phone, or by visiting your local Social Security office.
Will I be automatically enrolled?
Some people are automatically enrolled in Medicare if they are already receiving benefits from the Social Security Administration before turning 65. In this case, they are typically enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B automatically. Others may need to sign up themselves during enrollment period.
Do I need additional coverage?
After enrolling in Medicare Part A and Part B, many people review additional coverage options to help with the 20% out-of-pocket costs or prescription drugs. Plans such as, Medicare Part D or Medicare plan options available in their area to supplement what Medicare doesn't cover.
What does Medicare cost?
